Located on New Zealand’s South Island, between the foot of the Remarkables mountain range and the edge of Lake Wakatipu, is the Matagouri House. A residence by Fearon Hay Architects that draws its inspiration from its striking natural surroundings.
The home is anchored by two cubic masonry structures specified with a StoTherm external wall insulation system finished in a bespoke concrete effect created with the architect.
The interior walls feature a StoCalce plaster. The plasterwork on both the exterior and interior were crafted to complement the planted tussock green roof and timber work, the cast shadows evident in the landscape, and the wild alpine environment.
