A distinctive coarse texture with functional benefits
The distinctive spikes and burrs produced by this application method are particularly enhanced when a large grain aggregate is present in the material. The resulting texture is distinguished by deep shadows, changing the appearance of the wall in different lighting conditions. The highly textured nature of this finish also hides small imperfections and dirt, thus keeping the facade looking better for longer with minimal maintenance.

Material texture - aggregate grain size

Other considerations include weathering, crack-resistance, and on-going maintenance of the surface material. Sto renders are available in various textures ranging from finer 1.5mm up to a more coarse 6mm aggregate grain size.
