Bonded acoustic system - StoSilent Direct

This acoustic system that can be applied directly to a wide range of substrates, to create an economical, seamless solution. This space-saving system is constructed with lightweight mineral fibre boards with a pre-applied, textured surface, making them perfect for large, seamless acoustic ceilings. Sandwiched together, they are very easy to assemble and install prior to applying the levelling and finishing coats.

StoColor Climasan is an innovative photocatalytic paint. When applied in an appropriate airless spray technique, it is compatible with many Sto acoustic systems and helps to reduce room odours.

Substances suspended in the air become deposited on a room's painted wall and ceiling surfaces. The normal room lighting activates the catalyst in the StoColor Climasan paint to break these substances down, noticeably improving the air quality in the room. This coating has been used for hospitals, science laboratories, cafeterias, residential buildings, hotels, shopping malls and other public spaces.

Sto has an online and on-demand continuing development presentation (CPD) available to design professionals “how to achieve good acoustics” here.

The Sto presentation is intended to give an insight into why & where acoustics are needed as well as how the integration of seamless ceiling and wall linings may be considered to be “invisible architecture” for atria, conference, education, leisure and health care spaces.
