Sto: Interior Colors 24+ interior paints

The colour shades in the new Interior Colors 24+ collection allow 50 naturally occurring colour nuances to be transferred to modern wall paints and interior coatings. Radiating comfort, they are the perfect reflection of the trend towards building materials that are as close to nature as possible.

People have been using dyestuffs to embellish fibres, everyday objects, and buildings for thousands of years. Originally, plants, animals, and minerals provided the base materials for the various colour shades. However, as industrialisation gathered pace, synthetic materials began to replace their organic predecessors.

The experts in the StoDesign team have made it their aim to return colour nuances to their natural origins, adding the “Interior Colors 24+” collection to the StoColor System of specialist building coatings. The collection’s 50 colour shades for interior wall paints are in perfect harmony with the trend towards interior products that are as close to nature as possible.

35 of the shades in the new collection were derived directly from dyestuffs prepared in the traditional way, based on extracts of elderberry, turmeric root, or onion skin, for example. The other 15 shades were derived by association (from vanilla blossom, for example). DIN A6 samples of the complete collection of colour shades, which are both new and old at the same time, are available in a handy box. Complementary 3D visualisations suggest how the natural shades can be combined and used on different building materials.

The StoColor System was created in 2022 on the basis of a metric colour system. It contains more than 1,000 colour shades for facades plus 225 further shades for interiors. There are also more than 200 lacquer colour shades, 38 wood stain colour shades, and 72 historically significant colour shades – primarily natural earth colours or pigments.
