Global commitment to the environment
Sto can look back on another successful World Cleanup Day. On this year's global day of action to remove waste from nature, Sto Group employees around the world once again rolled up their sleeves and took action to rid our environment of litter and waste.
According to the World Bank, we humans are responsible for more than two billion tonnes of waste per year, much of which ends up in rivers, lakes and oceans, on beaches, on roads, in meadows and in forests. This is why the national societies of the non-profit network 'Let's do it' organise World Cleanup Day every year on the third Saturday in September, which Sto took part in again this year.
We did it again, Sto!
In numerous countries, the Sto Group organised local clean-up actions in which not only plastic bottles and packaging materials were collected, but also curious finds such as car tyres and electrical appliances. These joint efforts are a living testimony to the Sto Group's commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable awareness.
"For us, World Cleanup Day is more than just a day of tidying up; it's a day to demonstrate our responsibility for the planet and the community," emphasises Dr Eike Messow, Sto Group's Head of Sustainability. "The enthusiasm and commitment of our teams around the world show that we can achieve great things together."
We would like to thank everyone who took part and helped to make our environment a little cleaner. Together we can achieve a lot!
